What's the difference between the two courses?.

Day skipper starts at first principles and assumes no prior knowledge. Where the Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster assumes basic seamanship knowledge and takes the more experienced sailor further. If you have no navigational knowledge, it is not a good idea to try to start with Coastal Skip

Will it work on a Mac?

Yes. The CD's work under internet explorer or any HTML browser. However the RYA electronic chart simulator will not work.

Is the course up dated regularly?

Recent up dates have included a new section on AIS and diesel engines. We try to keep the courses at the fore front of Yachting today. If there's something new I try to make sure its included. If its not on the CD and it should be. Tell me! I will get an up date to you.

How long do I have to complete

We give you a year from the day we post the pack. It should not take you more than about 40 to 50 hours to complete and its best if this is done between three and four months. Don't buy it if you think it will take a year ! By the time you get to the end, you will have forgotten the beginning!

If you do run over your time limit, we do not necessarily cut you off! you just go to the back of the que for marking and we may have to make a small extra charge. currently Ł60 for an extra years support.

Do we supply all you need and how much does it cost?

All you need to complete the course is in the pack. The day Skipper course including exams and marking costs Ł275
The Coastal skipper / Yachtmaster is Ł315

I've already got the kit do I have to buy more? No just tell us and we will knock off the price of plotters dividers etc.

Can I take the course if I'm not in UK?

Of course you can! It might take us a bit longer to get the pack out to you however and it would be better if you could send back exercises by email!
